May Meeting: DSVC Welcomes Dirk Fowler

May 5 – Recently referred to by Glasstire Art magazine as "the most famous guy in Lubbock, Texas no one has ever heard of", Dirk Fowler is the poster making half of f2design, a graphic design studio he operates with his wife Carol.

A nine-year advertising veteran and an Associate Professor in graphic design, Dirk has focused his design efforts primarily in the music industry since 2002. His unusually simple concert posters are printed on antique letterpress equipment. Most of his images are hand cut and are combined with vintage wood and metal type. His posters for clients like Wilco, Spoon, The New York Dolls and No Doubt have appeared in dozens of art and design books and magazines, as well as galleries and garages around the world.
