September Meeting: Gareth Smith and Jenny Lee

DSVC is proud to present Gareth Smith & Jenny Lee of Smith & Lee Design for our first meeting of the year. This dynamic duo specialize in title design and created the sequences for films including Thank You for Smoking, Juno, Up in the Air and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Their most recent work includes John Carpenter's The Ward and HBO Films' Cinema Verite.

Their work has been featured on industry websites including Art of the Title, Forget The Film Watch the Titles and Grain Edit, as well as design-centric publications including IdN, Print and the UK's Creative Review and DesignWeek.

The Walker Art Center and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum will feature two of their title sequences, Juno and Up in the Air, as part of their upcoming major international exhibition, Graphic Design: Now in Production beginning in late October 2011.

Please note our meeting location has changed for the 2011-12 season, to the Angelika Film Center, located in Mockingbird Station.
