DSVC Presents Armin Vit, of Under Consideration

Oct 6 - Born and raised in Mexico City, Armin is a graphic designer and writer now living in Austin, Texas. He is co-founder of UnderConsideration, a graphic design firm and publishing enterprise all rolled into one. While he has written for most of the well-known trade publications, he is better known for his writing on the blogs that make up the UnderConsideration online network — Brand New, Quipsologies, FPO, Speak Up, Word it and The Design Encyclopedia — as well as from the books he has co-authored with his wife and partner, Bryony Gomez-Palacio. Through UnderConsideration’s Department of Design he designs corporate identities, books and web sites for a few clients.

Before establishing UnderConsideration, Armin had worked in the industry for ten years, accruing experience in various disciplines including corporate and brand identity, annual reports, business collateral, web design and programming, packaging, as well as magazine and book design. His work has been recognized in numerous award publications and books, and he and Byrony regularly serve on design juries for various national competitions as well. In 2006, one of their blogs was the only blog included in the Cooper-Hewitt’s National Design Triennial.

Armin and his wife are the authors of The Word It Book: Speak Up Presents a Gallery of Interpreted Words (2007); Women Of Design: Influence And Inspiration From The Original Trailblazers To The New Groundbreakers (2008); Graphic Design, Referenced: A Visual Guide to the Language, Applications, and History of Graphic Design (2009); Flaunt (2010).

Armin and Bryony are awesome. Can't wait to hear from them. And...it was just announced that they will be hosting a workshop at next spring's Design Ranch 2011 in Austin! Very cool.
