DSVC Welcomes Eddie Opara, New Partner, Pentagram NY

DEC 1 - DSVC is pleased to introduce the prolific new partner at Pentagram New York, Eddie Opara.

Eddie was born to Nigerian parents in Wandsworth, London in 1972. He studied graphic design at the London College of Printing and Yale University, where he received his MFA in 1997. He began his career as a designer at ATG and Imaginary Forces and worked as a senior designer/art director at 2×4 before establishing his own studio, The Map Office, in 2005.

He joined Pentagram’s New York office as partner in October 2010.

Opara is a multi-faceted designer whose work encompasses strategy, design and technology. His projects have included the design of brand identity, publications, packaging, environments, exhibitions, interactive installations, websites, user interfaces and software, with many of his projects ranging across multiple media.

Paula Scher says: “Eddie represents the new generation of graphic designers for whom all forms of media and all dimensions of design are not separated from the initial concept but are an integral part of the total thought.”

Lisa Strausfeld adds: "Eddie is the ideal next generation Pentagram partner. He is a traditionally trained graphic designer and a self-taught software developer with a perfectly tuned eye and keenly strategic mind. He is what every client needs."

We hope you'll join us Wednesday, December 1st, for a night of drinks and laughs with all your Dallas creative friends, and say hello to our special guest, Eddie Opara.

Good talk. Very inspiring to see high level concepts which blur the line between art and design and some of the process and thinking going on behind the scenes. Thanks, Eddie & DSVC.
