Do you have to be an actual student competing or can you just go to view the art?

How can a student submit work to this competition? Do we need to be out of Texas or other states such as Illinois apply?

Brandon DeLoach Said:

Answer to the first question: Students attending the Conference will see all the work accepted into the show. Buy Conference tickets here: http://dsvc.myshopify.com/collections/types?q=Student+Show To the second question, this is a national student competition and we receive entries from nearly every state including Illinois. We'd love to have you enter the show and attend the conference. Reserve you ticket with the link above and enter the show here: http://enter.dsvc.org. Good luck and we'll see you in April.

Sorry if this is a trivial question, but do we need a Student ID or would a driver license suffice?
on Feb. 2, 2012

Brandon DeLoach Said:

Any major form of ID will be fine.

Brandon DeLoach Said:

To answer a previous question: to view the show, you must be attending the conference. Professionals are welcome to come, but must pay the day pass rate of $100 at the door.

If a student graduated in December 2011, is he/she allowed to enter work that was produced in school during the Fall 2011 semester? (To be clear, the student is not currently enrolled, but produced the work as an enrolled design student last semester.) Thanks in advance for the clarification!

Brandon DeLoach Said:

Anonymous: Yes! All student work done in the past 12 months is eligible for the 2012 show.

Are quests other than students and professionals allowed to come to the conference or is it strictly for students and professionals, like if a student has a guest that wants to go with them?

Are the tickets going to be sent to us in the mail after we purchase them? Or will we be picking them up once we get to the conference. Thanks.

Kirsten Said:

Are faculty bringing students to the conference still allowed free admission?
on Mar. 7, 2012

Bradley Said:

I'd love to know the answer to Kirsten's question also. (Plus) I think it's good policy for promoting upcoming year's shows because many Professors bring back photographs and stories that get students excited about entering and wanting to get involved in the DSVC as members.

How will we receive our tickets? Will they be delivered to us?
on Mar. 22, 2012

Brandon DeLoach Said:

I'm going to answer a batch of questions here. Professionals are allowed to attend the conference for $100 per day. Tickets must be purchased at the door. There are no physical tickets. Registration will be verified by ID at check in. Instructors accompanying students are admitted for free. If you'd like to participate in portfolio reviews or sponsor a vendors table, email me: studentshow@dsvc.org.

Does registration just start at 1 on Thursday? Or should the students be there earlier?

Is there anyone looking to sell their Studio Tour ticket? I was recently able to go to the conference and am looking for a studio tour ticket!
