Does anybody use Wacom Cintiq 20WSX or 21UX? I am in the process of getting one and need help with deciding between the two. I already called Wacom and they like both of them of course!

Wacom 20WSX

Ok, I got in my new Wacom tablet, and after setting it up (which is not a simple procedure) it simply rocks! I have been using Photoshop for years now, and what once took me 10 min now takes me 2 min... It takes a little adjusting to the pin in relationship to the thickness of the glass, kind of gives you a little optical illusion as to where you really are in relationship to the imagine beneath, but overall I am very pleased with it!!!

Bury the Brick

I began using Wacom graphics tablets more than 10 years ago while doing broadcast design. After only a few weeks I threw away every mouse I had and have never looked back.

I am an avid fanboy for the pen and tablet approach. A mouse is about as delicate as a brick. How anyone could ever work in graphic design, illustration, or photo re-touch without a graphics tablet is beyond me.

Regarding your original question.... All the Wacom tablets are great. I have a large format Intous 12"x19" tablet for my desktop tower, and smaller Intous 9"x12" tablet next to it for when I plug-in my laptop. Plus I own their new bluetooth tablet for on-the-road work.

The bluetooth is especially useful for small group meetings. I can set my computer at the end of the conference table and control it via the bluetooth from up to 20 feet away.

If you are out their using a mouse to do graphic design work... shame on you. Bury the brick!

Ergonomic: Cintiq vs. tablet

As a confirmed graphics tablet user I agree with Mr. Jennings' comments. However, before affording a Cintiq, which will take up more desktop real estate, consider that you'll be working in a head-down vs head-up position, and demands on your hand and wrist will be analogous to using a conventional drawing table. Also, head-down is not kind on the eyeballs. The alternative: a 30" Apple monitor and a 6x11 Wacom, giving you great control and head-up ease of working, not just in Pshop but in all applications. You may already have this setup and be looking to expand, in which case why not get a Cintiq too. If I ran a studio and wanted my graphic artists to spit fire, I'd afford the 30.
