Senior Designer

The Matchbox Studio, an award winning creative design shop, is seeking a Senior Level designer (5-10 years experience) to work on print and interactive design for our exciting and fun list of clients. An ideal candidate will have a degree in graphic design and a well rounded, impeccably designed book representing a variety of project types.

As a Senior Designer at The Matchbox Studio you are responsible for creating the creative product that our clients require and that has given Matchbox a reputation for high quality, always fresh work. The designer is the heart of Matchbox, and is diligent in applying both creativity and strategic thought to everything he or she touches. It is a Senior Designers responsibility to understand the scope, goals, time lines and budgets on a given project and work within that framework to produce the highest quality product possible. The Senior Designer reports to the Creative Director of the department and works directly with clients and Creative Director on all projects. In addition, the Senior Designer works with Designers to ensure the best work.

Responsibilities Include:

• Understanding Creative Brief and working toward established goals
• Concepting, designing, and producing creative work
• Project Management and Client Contact
• Art Direction of Designers
• Staying on budget and on time
• Some production work
• Staying creative and inspired, and inspiring others
• Specifying paper and writing print or interactive specs
• Pre-Press, Press Supervision and Proofing

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years experience as a designer
• Graphic Design or Related Degree
• Experience in Adobe CS
• Confident and capable of juggling multiple projects
• Ability to work well with others and to mentor younger / less experienced designers
• Positive Attitude, willingness to learn and be part of a dynamic and fun team
